The Victoria Stakes is a Group 2 race that takes place on the first weekend of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival each year at Eagle Farm Racecourse. The race is run under weight-for-age conditions and is open to horses aged three-years-old and upwards. The Victoria Stakes is worth $175,000 in prize money and is run over a distance of 1,200 metres.

The winner of the Victoria Stakes gains automatic entry into the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap, which is run on the final day of the Winter Carnival and is Queensland’s richest race. For this reason, the Victoria Stakes is a great form guide to the $1 million Stradbroke Handicap, as well as many of the other races throughout the carnival.
